Submitting an article is easy. You need only provide:
The body of the feature is created using the built-in Internet Explorer editor, so if you're using Netscape or Opera or something, well, you'll have to post raw HTML. If you want to use the super-easy copy and paste editor, you'll just have to make that sacrifice to your sacred principles and fire up IE.
Ok, so assuming you're not a militant-mozilla partisan and wanna know how to work the editor, it's pretty straightforward. I built this system around the principle of ease of use and speed to publishing. Kind of like the web publishing equivalent of Instant Messaging.
Here are some rules and tips:
- Because you're working with HTML, you can copy and paste from other websites. Just drop it right in the editor with good old Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V
- Wanna drop a picture in from some other site? Right click on it, select copy. Then go back to the editor and paste. Voila!
- You can't paste in form elements - it breaks the form on my page when you try. So just don't do that...

Script kiddies? No thanks. You don't just post features directly to the website. Putting in haxor code and stuff just means I receive formal notice of your criminal intent. Now, I know this doesn't apply to my dear readers, but you never know who's gonna just wander in...

Those special buttons and stuff!!
Basic Formatting, stuff, pretty obvious, just highlight it and push the button Show HTML pops up a dialog box showing the HTML
Ok, subhead don't work,
Link creates links, just highlight what you want linked first Unlink unlinks what you link. Oh and btw, URLs autolink themselves.
create bullet points or indents
Save and Load - create a copy stored on your computer. It works between browser sessions, too!
You can edit the raw HTML if you want.

The table generator in action. There it is on the menu at the top, ready to pop open a new window that builds you copy and paste ready tables.
When the "done" button is pushed, the final copy of the table is generated, using the little red images shown in the image above as placeholders. At this point, the table simply needs to be copied into the feature for editing.

General warning -- Watch out about the editor windows getting redirected away. The unsaved contents of the form will go away! Oh crap! Yeah, so use the save button. Do it often, why not? If you need open another browser window, use the shortcut on your desktop or open a new one with Ctrl-N

Done? So you've crafted the perfect, ultimate feature? Well hit the submit button and it wings its way to me for review, editting and submission. I require your email address so that I can converse with my correspondents. This is no /. Anonymous Coward posting comments BS. You are asking to be a correspondent for the illustrious LoopyNews. Ok, well, kidding aside, I just wanna make sure you're satisfied with the completed feature before I put it up or (so very sorry if it happens) let you know if I'm not gonna publish it.
